Where do you live?
I split my time between New York and Cincinnati, Ohio. Currently I’m residing in the latter; I’m returning to the former on July 1.
Where are you from?
I grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, and attended college there. After college, I wound up in Cincinnati, Ohio for awhile before coming to New York. Currently I’m taking a New York hiatus [want to know why? read this], and I’ll be back soon. I’m stoked! Are you?
Do you like New York?
I have a love/hate relationship with it, which is why I’m not there right now. It’s expensive and crowded and when I’m there I work too hard to have time to do a lot of the fun stuff that I’d like to do. But it feels way more like home than anywhere else I’ve been. I thrive on the density, the speed, the ease of transportation, and the inherent privacy of being surrounded by a bunch of people who are too short on time to be nosy.
Do you like Cincinnati?
Not as much as I like New York, but it has its charms. It’s really difficult to get around without a car. And there are a total of, like, eleven bars and restaurants within walking distance of my house [as compared with the forty or so I had in Brooklyn]. But I have a lot of friends here, including a group of some of the best musicians I’ve ever met.
I want to visit New York! What things do you love doing? Can I meet up with you for a drink?

What’s your day job?
I work as a freelance copy editor and proofreader at a handful of advertising and law firms in New York, as well as for some private clients. By day, I’m a copywriter/technical writer in the legal department of a corporation. [Pssst...did you know I'm available for freelance work? Get in touch..]
Also, I’m the creative director of my own line of handmade clothing and accessories, [and yes, I take commissions!].

What equipment do you use?
I do all my writing on a trusty Macbook. My camera is a Nikon Coolpix, and I borrow a Canon Rebel for some of my photos. My videos are recorded on a Kodak Zi8.
Are you talking about the music, though? When I’m on stage, I play a Yamaha electric piano, and my bass is a Fender hollow-bodied acoustic/electric bass. My amp is a Yorktown rehearsal amp.
