“Home is where you’re comfortable walking around without pants.”
I’m going to be moving Friday and Saturday – heading to the first place in fifteen months where I can be pants-free without fear of disapproving glances from the people that live with me. I’m pre-posting an outfit pic featuring those amazing shoes, plus some other surprises. But I really can’t wait to get my stuff out of boxes and get back to work. Yes? Okay.
Meanwhile, why don’t you take a look at a couple of wise words of times past on packing and moving? You know you want to.

Wish me luck. What do you guys do when you move? Are you super-organized at packing, or do you throw everything into boxes in no particular order? Any tips or tricks or hacks or curses?

I don’t mean to boast, but I am an expert mover and packer. This can be confirmed by Hilly Kenkel.
I’ve moved cross-country countless times with my family, and twice on my own. Then several more times here, locally.
When I had to pack up my life into my Volvo (which is not a wagon, mind you), my trick was Space Bags! Now that I don’t have to pack my world into a car, my trick is large (18 Gal and up) Rubbermaid bins, LABELED ACCORDINGLY! :)

Also, I am fiercely good (well, effective–maybe not “good”) at getting rid of stuff. I always take at least two trips to Goodwill before moving, and I feel like I need to take advantage of re-purposing things. Every time I’ve moved with Greg, we’ve ended up with less and less stuff. I usually start freaking out before I pack everything and he is constantly telling me, “WE DON’T HAVE A LOT OF STUFF. RELAX.” And he’s right. We currently have a 1000 sq.ft. apartment with nearly nothing in it.
