• The Minor Leagues. Yes, all of us. Yes, everything about us. We have awesomeness in the works – videos, DVDs, and some prime shows that I’m not allowed to announce yet [fyi, keeping a secret is incredibly hard for me]. Plus, we’re hard at work on our new album, North College Hill. [Yes, it's named for the neighborhood in Cincinnati. Brilliant!]
  • Real spring cleaning. So many of the clean-out-your closet posts I’ve written have been way too analytical, focusing on thinking really hard about whether to get rid of something or not – weighing options, considering my future regret, thinking about how much I’d be wasting if I passed it along. Well, enough of that. In my latest round of exorcising ghosts – both sartorial and otherwise – I went with my gut, tossing things aside on a whim if they didn’t relate to my life anymore. The result? A more streamlined set of belongings that will fit into one neat carload when I relocate next. I’m spending less of my time cleaning and taking care of stuff, and more doing what I want to do. A win of epic proportions!
  • Free time. I loved my last contract – technical writing for a database training manual at a regional healthcare corporation. However, I routinely worked 70-hour weeks; my office had no windows; and I have a really difficult time waking up before seven every day. Now that the gig is over, I’m working from home on a pretty huge proofreading/copy editing project. My deadlines are daily, but I still have lots of time to spend outdoors with my dog, read, and work out [I'm not going to lie - I was sad to lose access to the employee gym at my last gig!]. And this week, I joined my friends for Thursday night for the first time this year. Traditions? You bet your bum.
  • Ryan Trecartin . . . and Chicago. Later this week Chris and I are traveling to Chicago to see Ryan Trecartin speak at the Art Institute. If you haven’t seen his videos, you should. They will break your brain. But in only the best possible way. We’ll stay in Chicago through the weekend, and our to-do list includes some gallery shows, a Thai dinner, and a splurge at The Ark [fact: last time I was there, I bought two tops, a dress, a coat, and two pairs of shoes for under $20].

Kiddos: what are you stoked about right now?
